Beta Poker Tracker 4 Released

Thursday 29th March 2012

poker tracker 4PokerTracker 4, or PT4 as it’s known, is the newest version of the hand history software that the public has such a love-hate relationship with. While the finished product is not quite in stores, the Beta version is now available for the public to get their hands on. All you have to do is go to PokerTracker’s website and request a download code.

PokerTracker, for anyone who is unaware of it, is a tool used to save and store hand histories. This means that after a winning or losing hand, the player can go back and see what he or she did wrong. You can even replay some of the hands if you would like. All of this information is stored safely and securely on your desktop too. At this point the individual options for customization are so advanced that players can choose to omit certain statistics in order to create less wasted space on their program. They provide statistical graphing when applicable and really do everything in their power to help you recognize mistakes and improve your game.

Recently there has been some public outcry over the use of PokerTracker because it is typically only used by hardcore players, which means recreational players are put at a huge disadvantage. Some folks claim that the use of PokerTracker technology gives the user an unfair advantage over the other players who do not use PokerTracker. While this may be true, those in favor of the software claim that it is the type of advantage that a team gets when they practice more than their opponent. No matter what, the debate will continue and as of now PokerTracker is not banned on any poker sites. The store-version of PT4 is expected to be released later this year, and there is no doubt that it will be a huge success.
