Online Poker Development in Nevada

Since Black Friday there have been many different stories about the future of online poker in the US, and we all know that it is not a future that is guaranteed. But with Nevada at the forefront of the legal online poker movement, it is really looking like things are starting to take shape; at least a little bit. US poker online has been in a sad state since last April, but recent developments may be able to change that.

Companies that would like to be considered to own a poker site or have stake in one have been clamoring to get their foot in the door in Nevada. Aristocrat Leisure Limited is the name of an Australian company who has made the most effort in the state of Nevada. In fact, the first time Aristocrat inquired about a license in the state was back in December, and now they’re at it again. But Aristocrat was not the only company looking at a possible future in Nevada, 888 Poker, South Point Poker, and Cantor Gaming are just a few of the others that would see a benefit from being on a Nevadan intra-state poker network. The time to move quickly is now, because US player deposit options are dwindling and apart from Bovada, Lock, and Carbon there are not too many other reliable sources for online poker.

The reason Nevada cannot be accepting companies yet or extensively talking to them yet is because not everything with the law is finalized. Nevada state government needs to come up with the rules and regulations by which a site must abide. This process could be done right away, but state legislators want to make sure they take their time so they get the law right.
