PartyPoker Classic was a huge success

montreal party poker classicBefore the event even started, there was a lot of buzz around the Montreal PartyPoker Classic. Not only did this even raise money for breast cancer research, but it also helped some poker players earn a trip to Las Vegas to keep playing poker. Not only was the player field full, but the stands too as many spectators came to watch the action in downtown Montreal.

Over the past 4 days the player field has been shaven down to just 20 players who will suspend play for now, and pick it back up in Las Vegas at one of the most popular casinos there, the Bellagio. In Vegas, the 20 finalists will be battling it out for the grand prize, or should I say, prizes. The last ten standing will have the $10,000 buy-in to the World Poker Tour Five Diamond World Poker Classic. Not only does the $10,000 event give players the chance to share millions in prize money, it will also give them the opportunity to play against and with some of the biggest names in poker today.

The final 10 are not the only ones who received prizes from this event, in fact, the top 40 players received prizes. One of the most attractive prizes was a brand new Mercedes Benz car that was donated by a local Montreal Mercedes dealership. The car was won by a man named Mike Crabbe who hails from Ottawa. Even if players did not fare too well, they can still take comfort in the fact that their buy-ins went to a very good cause. Not only did the Montreal PartyPoker Classic provide funds for cancer research, it also gave players a shot at achieving their dream of playing at one of poker’s highest levels. With the huge success of the inaugural event, we are confident that there will be a second annual PartyPoker Classic next year for all Canadian Poker players.
